Sometimes I think I like winter. It became clear to me this past winter that this idea is both false and retarded. Sometimes I think I like fall. That one is true, it's not so bad. The air is crisp, the football is cheerful, and Autumnal is a great word to overruse. Sometimes I think I like spring. But it mostly just makes me think of pastel colored peeps. Sometimes I think I PASSIONATELY AND FERVIDLY AND BORDERLINE LUSTFULLY LOVE SUMMER. And I'm goddamned right!!!

Summer 09 is trying its sunny little heart out to be the best season ever…and I appreciate every last effort. Following up the longest stretch of no rain with a heatwave is a grrrrreat way to win! We're a piece of history, friends. Oh sweet Summer, with your swimming, sweat, and sun induced sleepies, I ♥ you. What, with your snacks, Seafair, salmon and soft serve. It's as though the entire 3 months were and are one long, reassuring, celebratory hug.

Ok. So the heat wave was a little redic-y. Mother nature flexed her insane Madonna arms and threatened drowning via apocalyptic sweat while rendering showers useless. And it rulllled! I'm indebted to lady heat for blowing a transformer and taking the entire block of power out surrounding my office, allowing me to work from home/raft/lake. The only negative aspect of heat wave 09 was everyone outside of Seattle's rush to belittle us for being awed with the temperature. Per usual, the bulk of this irritation was presented on the platter of shit known as Facebook status updates. "It's funny that all my Facebook friends in seattle think 104 is hot: :) Try the 114 we had last week..." Wow, that IS hotter. And I bet the more than 10% of your homes and commercial establishments have air conditioning. And I bet you live in a semiarid, stepppe, or arid desert climate ecosystem that has been conditioned through evolution for heat. And I bet it's not THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED THERE. I grew up in the desert too, dick, and your condescending smiley face is not appreciated. Shut. Up. And take your kid(s) out of your profile picture. It's creepy.

Thank you for holding me to your sweet and supple bosom, Summer, and keep up the smooth sailing!
